The Acadia Dance Festival returns to Bar Harbor, ME – featuring performances by the acclaimed Nimbus Dance with musicians from the Bar Harbor Music Festival.

The Acadia Dance Festival brings world-class performances, dance workshops, artist talks, and opportunities to experience the exhilarating world of contemporary dance on Mount Desert Island. Launched in 2018 by Nimbus Dance in partnership with Bar Harbor’s 1932 Criterion Theatre, the Acadia Dance Festival brings together professional dance artists from throughout the northeast for performances while also offering engaging community programming through local partnerships with Camp Beech Cliff, ArtWaves & More.  

Experience a week of intensive with Nimbus Dance at the Acadia Dance Festival Intensive!

Acadia Dance Festival offers a rigorous, creatively engaging, week-long Summer Intensive for dancers aged 14-22.

The Summer Intensive is designed for high-school and college-aged dancers looking to expand their training, explore their artistry, and gain experience in a professional-level dance setting. Faculty are experts in the field who have carefully crafted curricula to help young dancers grow technically, artistically, and professionally.

Participants take daily classes (ballet, hip hop, contemporary) with professional dance artists from Nimbus Dance and a rotation of special topics such as injury prevention, audition skills, and improvisation.
