Kaysha Smith

(Chicago, IL) She began her training at Rockford Dance Company, where she performed as a company member in various lead roles. Kaysha received her Certificate in Dance at The Ailey School in 2020, and was a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group (ASPG). She has had the opportunity to perform works by artists such as Norbert de la Cruz, Darell Grand Moultrie, Matthew Rushing, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Eduardo Vilaro. She has attended summer intensives at The Ailey School, Ballet Chicago and Milwaukee Ballet on scholarship, and also received the Nuestro Futuro Scholarship to attend Ballet Hispánico’s ChoreoLab in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, Kaysha was a company member with Alison Cook Beatty Dance, and toured the tri-state area. She was also a part of the inaugural cohort of Ballet Hispánico’s Pa’lante Scholars scholarship program, under the direction of Rodney Hamilton, from 2021-2023. She recently had the opportunity to attend the Calderón Dance Festival in Oklahoma City, OK and perform at New Victory Theatre in NYC as a part of BH Dos this past season as well. This is Kaysha’s first season with Nimbus 2, and she is grateful to continue her work with the organization.
